Rodings Primary School in Leaden Roding is celebrating a 'good' Ofsted rating following a recent inspection.

Of the areas highlighted by the inspector, behaviour and the personal development of the children were praised as particular strengths.

The report stated: "Pupil's good behaviour in the classrooms and on the playground is notable", and added: "Staff use a consistent, positive approach to managing pupils' behaviour, known as 'The Rodings Way'."

Inspectors praised the school for offering a wide range of clubs for pupils to join, and giving them the chance to take on roles of responsibility.

The report said that bullying rarely happens at Rodings, and added: "Pupils are very proud of their school. They say the best things about Rodings are the teachers and the pupils.

"They describe everyone in the community as kind and supportive."

When identifying areas for improvement, in order for the school to achieve an 'outstanding' rating, the inspector recommended the school focuses on developing children's writing skills.

Headteacher Colin Raraty shared his joy at the inspection's findings. He said: "We are delighted with the outcome of the report.
