The Selfish Giant

PAUL BLAKEMORE

The Selfish Giant is told with puppetry, music and a sprinkling of audience interaction.

Children’s play The Selfish Giant, based on the story by Oscar Wilde, will be at Haverhill Arts Centre on Wednesday, April 17.

Grinter is a giant. She lives happily alone in her huge, cold house. But outside her garden walls, the world has been changing and there is very little green left.

One day, some children, who are tired of playing on hard roads and grey rooftops, find a chink in the wall and climb through, changing their lives and Grinter’s.

The show is presented by Tessa Bide Productions and Soup Soup Theatre.

The tale is told by two actors with storytelling, puppetry, music and a sprinkling of audience interaction. It’s been reviewed as an enchanting show: “A beautiful tale of friendship and belonging, skilfully told through the characters, their puppets and the music.”

2pm. Tickets, £7.50, concessions, £6.50, family £26 from 01440 714140 or www.haverhillartscentre.co.uk.
