Gibbon takes inspiration from the world of dance, mixing different art forms with circus skills, exploring ideas through movement and devised theatre to create a surreal atmosphere.
A circus production fusing juggling, choreography and theatre, called Gibbon, will be at Cambridge Junction on Wednesday, April 24. Chris Patfield and Jose Triguero have produced a show that The Guardian called “seriously interesting and wryly amusing”.
Gibbon takes inspiration from the world of dance, innovating choreographically and conceptually, by mixing different art forms with juggling, exploring ideas through movement and devised theatre to create a surreal atmosphere.
Described as devastatingly slick and wonderfully thought-provoking. Circus Diaries said: “We enter the room to see two people posing as though for a portrait, one sat on a chair (Jose Triguero) and the other stood behind (Chris Patfield). They stay there, awkwardly glancing at each other and the audience, until Patfield moves away to reveal that he isn’t wearing any trousers. The combination of mesmerising manipulation and dry comedy left me wanting more.”
7.30pm, 55 minutes, suitable for people aged over eight. Tickets, £12.50, concessions, £8 from 01223 511511 or junction.co.uk.
