THROUGHOUT October the East Anglian Group of Marine Artists will be exhibiting in the Aubrey Art Gallery. The preview evening for the exhibition will be on Friday October 7 in the gallery from 7pm.

The group was started in 1979 by six amateur and professional marine painters who met at the famous “Butt and Oyster” pub at Pin Mill on the banks of the River Orwell, Suffolk.

Inspired by the surroundings and a shared enthusiasm for depicting the maritime scene the East Anglian Group of Marine Artists was brought into being. Soon, others were invited to join, amongst them being some well-known and highly regarded artists with a leaning towards East Coast subject matter

The group celebrated it’s first 30 years in 2009 and is looking forward to many more to come.
