Youth Star of the week - Alex Clayden
DESPITE his team losing 2-0 to Danbury Juniors, Barnston Youth Under 12s star Alex Clayden has been named this week’s Dunmow Broadcast Youth Star of the Week.
Helped by his teammates on Sunday afternoon the youngster picked up a man of the match award for a superb individual performance.
Nominating him was Brian Hockley a senior member at Barnston who was watching on the sidelines.
He said: “I would love to nominate Under 12s defender Alex for his performance on Sunday for Barnston against Danbury Juniors, although his team lost 2-0 he had a good game through out.
“Alex is one of the younger members of the team as he came straight out of the under 10s into the under 12s. He was the regular under 10s goalkeeper last season, and has found his feet in the heart of the Barnston Under 12s defence this year.
“He takes everything in his stride and hardly ever makes a dirty tackle.”
