TWO teams. Two cup finals. What a weekend for Dunmow Rhodes.

Both the U11s an U12s appeared in major finals on Sunday – the U12s walked away with the Chelmsford Youth Cup after a 4-3 victory against Doddinghurst.

The U11s fell one step short with a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Chelmsford City but they were still able to hold their heads high after a good second half performance.

In total, 52 teams entered the U12s tournament, but Rhodes proved themselves as winners with goals from Evans (2), Murphy and Dicker – the latter being a winner with two minutes left on the clock.

Afterwards the team thanked the many supporters that have helped the side throughout the season and enjoyed a victory that capped a fantastic season.

Although the U11s didn’t fare so well result-wise they can still be happy after their own achievements, not least fighting back from 3-0 down in the final itself.

Goals from Currie and Williamson were not quite enough to take the match into extra time and it was city who were celebrating at the end of a gripping game.
