Dunmow Rhodes under eights were celebrating last weekend after winning the Springfield Mini Soccer Tournament.
They finished top of their group earning them a place in the quarter finals against Springfield B and won by virtue of the golden goal scored in extra-time by Freddie Wise.
The semi-final against Wilvale Rangers saw Wise score three more stunning long range efforts to put them through to the final with a comfortable 3-1 victory.
In the final Rhodes were drawn against Springfield A with whom they drew 2-2 in the early stages.
However, this time the whole team came out and gave everything. The defensive pairing of Jacobs and Williamson didn't allow the attackers any freedom or time on the ball. Turner, Carey and Thompson continued to work hard and chased every ball.
This resulted in most of the play being in the Springfield half. Thompson scored two cracking goals before player of the tournament Wise unleashed another left foot screamer for Dunmow's third to round off a well deserved 3-0 victory.
