Great Easton seven-year-old Ben Sessions proved what a talented golfer he is when he journeyed up to Scotand, the home of golf, and claimed fourth place in the US Kids European Championship for his own age group.

The event which had a field of 55 players, of which 38 came from outside the UK, was played over three rounds on the nine hole course at Longniddry Golf Club.

After the first round young Ben was leading the field with a wonderful score of 31.

The weather worsened on days two and three and so did the scoring, however rounds of 38 on both days was sufficient for Ben to claim fourth spot and receive the trophy he is clutching in the picture.

Ben plays out of Bishop’s Stortford Golf Club and was one of three junior members from that club that played in this prestigious event.

Jon Hopkins came fifth in the 15-18 age group and his younger brother Max finished 17th in the 12-year-old category.
