Dunmow Crests Blue were up against Galaxy Tornadoes in their last league match before the Christmas break.
The Crests team was missing a few players, including both regular shooters, but were helped out with players from Crests White.
Blues went ahead from the start and finished the first quarter four goals up.
Tornadoes came back hard in the second quarter, before Blues managed to break up their play and begin to extend their lead.
Fantastic defensive play both in the D and down the court, and some lovely shooting from all three stand-in shooters, gave Crests the edge.
The match finished with Crests as the winning team, the final score was 24-14.
Crests Blue finish the first half of the season second in their division.
Crests Academy lost to Wine Cellar White.
After a wet and blustery start, Wine Cellar got in their rhythm and were the stronger team winning 40-30.
Whites’ player of the match went to Hollie MacKay.
