Takeley fell to a first loss in six games going down 2-1 away at Waltham Forest in the Essex Senior League on Saturday.
The hosts went ahead through Jose Agua in the first half.
Player-manager Alex Martin brought himself off the bench with 20 minutes to go and scored an equaliser for the side from Station Road.
However, a last gasp penalty was awarded to Forest and converted by Kubilay Akbayrak to secure all three points.
Takeley remain 16th in the league table.
