Takeley fell to a 3-0 loss to 10-man FC Romania in their first Essex Senior League away game of the season.
Duncan Easley’s men enjoyed a 2-0 home win over Tower Hamlets on Saturday in the league opener, but could not repeat the result on Wednesday night.
FC Romania took a first half lead and despite being reduced to 10 men in the second half added two more goals.
Takeley are in FA Cup action on Saturday as they play Stansted away.
