Great Dunmow Primary School made a big splash at a district gala.
A team of 27 Key Stage 2 children (ages 7-11) travelled to Dunmow Leisure Centre last Wednesday (January 22) for the Uttlesford Schools Sport Programme ‘Stansted and Dunmow families swimming gala’.
The children took part in a variety of races against other local schools, including freestyle, butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke and relay races.
The Dunmow school won the competition overall in the large school category for Years 3/4 and years 5/6, so retained the sheild.
Teacher Katie Lock said: “The children all had great fun and swam their best. They showed amazing team spirit and therefore our school was able to retain the shield.”
