It is in the County competitions that Sawston have enjoyed major success this year. In the singles final held at March Conservatives Bowls Club, Neil Flack came up against Denis Lewis of Ely and Middleton Cup colleague, in a close game Denis just edged out Neil 21-17.

In the Champion of Champion singles, Steve Jacobs came up against Peter Boothman of Fordham and eased to victory 21-16.

In the pairs Neil and Steve turned in a great performance to win 24-7 off only 17 of the 21 ends, only conceding four ends and will play at Worthing in the National Finals.
