Eight Grange Farm and Dunmow Runners (GFDR) were among more than 700 runners who competed in the Great Bentley Half Marathon on Sunday.

Runners welcomed the dry, sunny conditions, although a cold breeze swept across the exposed, flat, 13.1 mile course.

Colchester Harriers’ Chris Sellens and Sarah Stradling were the first man and woman in 1 hour 12 minutes 45 seconds and 1h 18mins 58secs, respectively.

For GFDR, Ashwin Shah clocked 1h 27mins 49secs, just ahead of Paul McKenna in 1h 28mins 10secs. Gerard Geurts finished in 1h 37mins 31secs, followed by Ian Lawson (1h 39mins 4secs) and Martin Jackson (1h 40mins 39secs).

Claudine Davie was GFDR’s fastest female in 1h 37mins 43secs, with Tara and Laetitia Corbett in 1h 57 mins 34secs and 1h 57mins 35secs respectively.
