EIGHT Saffron Striders competed in the demanding Folksworth 15 against fierce competition, including runners from Paula Radcliffe's running club, Bedford & County.
Striders' golden girl Ros Barker again proved her class by securing first place in the F35 category. There was also a second place for Sue Bunten and fifth place for Claire Walters in the F50 and F35 categories respectively.
The race, just south of Peterborough, consisted of two seven and a half mile laps, including a couple of energy sapping hills.
It was an exposed course, although as the predicted severe weather never materialised, running conditions were near perfect.
In the men's section, Striders' chairman, Nigel Coates produced another fine performance to secure sixth position in the M45 category.
