For the second week running, the weather was the winner, as Aythorpe Roding, who looked to be heading for victory over Stock on Saturday, had their T Rippon Mid-Essex League Premier Division clash abandoned due to heavy rain.

High Roding's Mid-Essex League Premier Division clash against Pegasus and Corringham had to be abandoned after seven overs of the High Roding innings.

Roding won the toss and put Pegasus into bat on a wicket that had been covered of most of the week. The ball was lively and Pegasus never really got to grips with the situation.

A great ball from Ryan Palmer bowled Daryl Hymas who was the Pegasus danger man, and accurate bowling from Simon Sargent (3-33), and Mark Gallop (2-37) meant they were limited to 163-8 off 45 overs.

In reply Roding started steadily, scoring 26-0 off seven overs when at 5pm, the heavens opened and the game had to be abandoned.

High Roding seconds kept up their impressive form with a comprehensive win at Stansted.

Roding bowled Stansted out for 160, reaching the required total with the loss of just one wicket.

High Roding visit Bentley on Saturday, whilst the seconds host Woodford Wells at Cloghams.
