East London 6 Dunmow II 2

Dunmow seconds began the day on top of the league, but a

poor performance against their third place East London promotion rivals allowed them to steal

top spot.

An inability to clear the ball from the danger zone saw their usual frugal defence breached three times in the first half.

A short corner from Farr early in the second half temporarily narrowed the gap, but Dunmow failed to build on this when Owers squandered a chance and Tomalinson struck the post.

As Dunmow pressed the in-form home side proved too strong on the counter attack and scored twice more, before one of a barrage of short corners from Farr found the back of the net.

A sixth late on condemned Dunmow to only their second, but heaviest and most costly defeat of the season.

- Dunmow firsts fared better, securing a 2-1 home victory over Saffron Walden thirds.

- Saffron Walden men's first team were held to a 2-2 draw by West Herts, with the seconds held by Old Southendian seconds 4-4.
