Takeley got back to winning ways with a 3-2 Essex Senior League victory over Clapton at the Old Spotted Dog Stadium.
Duncan Easley’s side were 3-0 up at the break on Tuesday night thanks to goals from Ryan Lockett (two) and Alex Martin, however despite having a man sent off at the start of the second half, Clapton scored twice as Takeley claimed the win.
Takeley had been on a fine run of form going eight unbeaten in the league, however they crashed to a 6-0 defeat last Thursday away to promotion chasing Bowers & Pitsea.
The Station Road side were without a match over the Easter weekend, but returned to form with the Clapton triumph which moved them to 10th in the table, four points behind Tuesday’s opponents with three games in hand.
