Flitch youth Blues 4 Witham Town 0

A great performance against Witham saw Flitch run out victors.

After 10 minutes of great pass and move the first goal for Flitch was a little route one. James Askew kicked a long goal kick up pitch which cleared the Witham defence and bounced perfectly for Mason Allington to latch on to and slot it past the keeper with his left foot.

The second goal followed soon after, a square pass into the box from Ben Ward was met by Mason Allington who this time powered the ball home with his right foot.

Flitch made it three before half time when Ben Mackley was fouled on the right hand side of the box. Jacob Morgan took the free kick and floated it beautifully into the top corner

After half time Witham really made a game of it and put Flitch under pressure for long periods, but it was Flitch who rounded off the scoring. Flitch were awarded a throw on the left and Sam Barnes took a long throw into the box which was met on the volley by Jacob Morgan for his second of the game

Dunmow Rhodes Lions 5 Maldon& Tiptree 4

This League Cup Group A clash was a game of two halves.

The Lions were on top for most of the first half with Oscar Turning scoring on 10 minutes by converting a sweeping free kick from Christian Roles.

The second half started with a goal frenzy with Sam Duberry netting twice and Adam Griggs also adding to the tally within 15 minutes.

Maldon scored two in quick succession to make it 4-2.

Rhodes’ man-of-the-match Zak Jagathesan helped calm the nerves with a sweeping ball out to Joe Reed who split the defence for Turner to smash the ball home.

But Maldon fought to the end scoring twice, including their last in the final kick of the game.
