Dunmow Rhodes 5 Stock United 1
RHODES knew this Mid Essex League Division 3 fixture would be a muddy affair – and they indeed had to dig themselves out of a quagmire with a clinical second half display.
Stock took the lead and held on until half time. After a tactical change Rhodes came out all guns blazing and scored three similar goals within 10 second half minutes, Brad Johnson’s crosses meeting the head of defender Ollie Haynes on three occasions.
Top scorer Nick Quantrill added two more clinical strikes to make the final score a convincing one.

WITH Rhodes due to play in a semi final next week it was important that they started strongly against second-place Tillingham.
The hosts took and early lead when Dave Badham opened the scoring. Badham scored a second with a fine strike and Ben Hogan made it three before half time.
Tillingham came out second half with more determination but the Rhodes defence worked hard to keep them at bay, the visitors not grabbing their consolation until 10 minutes from time.
FLITCH United were left frustrated by the weather as their match on Saturday was postponed due to a water logged pitch.
This coming Saturday’s match is a double-header against Canvey Island-based CT66, at Alcott playing fields, kick offs at 1.30pm and 3pm.
