FLOODlight failure forced the referee to abandon Saffron Walden's away fixture in the Ridgeons League First Division, on Saturday.
Despite travelling to a windy and overcast FC Clacton, Walden had to leave the pitch after just 23 minutes with the score at 0-0.
Starting the game with a positive attitude, the away side had the best of the chances in their short time on the pitch.
FC Clacton's secretary said: "On behalf of all at FC Clacton, I apologise for the floodlight failure yesterday. We have had an electrician take a quick look and we do not have a clue what caused it, but it is going to take some work to fix.
"When the match is replayed, anyone who was there yesterday will of course be admitted for free, just let our guys on the gate know."
The Bloods host Thetford Town on Saturday and with captain Tommy Butchart looking set to start in his first game back from injury, the home side will be confident of a win.
