Saffron Walden Ladies secured their third consecutive win in the East League on Saturday, defeating Cambridge City.

Walden started strongly playing the ball around the City defence and getting their first goal from Captain Nia Evans, slotting the ball past the keeper after a scramble in front of the goal.

City came back straight away and pressured the Walden defence, resulting in a short corner, which deflected off a Walden defender into the back of the net.

Fantastic play between Claire Atack and Evans, saw Evans coolly putting the ball past the City keeper to restore Walden's lead.

A few minutes before half-time, Walden scored their third goal from a well practiced short corner routine, with Angharad Barratt finding the net.

The second half saw only one more goal and that was to seal the Walden victory, with defender Karen Furze sweeping the ball into the back of the net.

An excellent team performance maintained Saffron Walden seconds' unbeaten start to the season with a win at Letchworth.

The young squad are growing in confidence together and goals from Sophie Fry and Lorna Charge sealed the hard-fought win.

Walden's fifth team played a hard fought match against a team from Cambridge South.

The visitors proved too experienced for the newly formed team and conceded three goals by half-time.

The fifths rallied in the second half and ably led by skipper Di Read managed to only concede one more goal.

Dunmow Ladies 7 County Wanderers 1

Dunmow Ladies produced another emphatic win against County with Posy Rollit-Mason giving them an early lead.

Dunmow kept on the attack, working hard in midfield. County Wanderers swept a shot on the goal but this was saved by keeper Sally Ann Reynolds.

Dunmow kept up the pressure with several attempts at the goal by Charlotte Osborne and Helen Sedman just missing the target.

With neat passing from Kate Taylor to Posy Rollit-Mason, Helen Sedman ran from the wing to sweep in and reward the hosts with their second goal.

Just before half-time Holly Rollit-Mason went past several County players to score the third goal for Dunmow.

The home-side continued to apply pressure in the second half with a clean sweep from the D into the goal by Helen Burlend extending their lead.

Another run down the wing by Posy Rollit-Mason passing to Charlotte Osborne resulted in Dunmow's fifth goal.

Indecisive defending by Dunmow resulted in County Wanderers first and only goal.

Despite this, the hosts continued to dominate with Kate Taylor striking the ball which deflected off the Wanderers keeper into the back of the net. Superb defending by Tracy McLagan, Emma Hynds, Holly Rollit-Mason and Carly Luckin stopped any further goals by Wanderers and in the final minutes of the game, a pass from Charlotte Osborne found Posy Rollit-Mason who fired in an excellent shot for her second goal, rounding off the victory.
