Chloe Rogers and Lisa Wooding played their part as the Great Britain hockey team completed a successful tour to Argentina on Tuesday.

The ladies from Dunmow were in the squad for a series of test matches which kick-started preparations for the Beijing Olympics.

Speaking from Salta in Argentina, 22-year-old Chloe, said: "We have quite a young training squad and Argentina has given us a chance to train and play together regularly and bond as a team.

"It's a great opportunity to play against the world number two team in the rankings in their own country.

"They have brilliant support for hockey in Argentina and every match has been a sell out with a lively crowd of around 5000.

"The climate in Argentina also gives us a chance for some warm weather training in conditions that will be similar to Beijing in 2008."

Chloe helped Great Britain to a 3-0 victory over the hosts in the opener last Tuesday. This was followed by a 0-0 draw in the second test in which Lisa played.

Argentina got their revenge in test three on Saturday with a 1-0 victory. Lisa and Chloe both featured, but were unable to prevent the defeat.

The hosts secured another 1-0 win on Sunday, despite a Great Britain side which included Lisa Wooding dominating large parts of the match.

There was disappointment for both ladies in the final test on Tuesday night as a goal in the last seconds gave Argentina a 2-1 victory, despite the visitors dominating the second half.

"Matches have gone ok for the squad, and areas for improvement and long term development have been highlighted working towards the Olympics," said Chloe, who alongside Lisa plays for Chelmsford Hockey Club.

"We had a great start winning 3-0 in the opening match, since then the matches have been a lot closer and results could have gone either way.
