High Roding came back down to earth this weekend with both the 1st and 2nd XIs suffering defeats.
The 1st team, without three regular batsmen, hosted Great Baddow.
Baddow won the toss and made hay on a flat and even wicket.
Huartson made 106 and Gunalan 101 not out including a six to complete his century as Baddow hit 290-5 off their 45 overs.
In reply Roding lost Adam Holdgate to a slip catch, which brought Mel and Reece Hussain together at the crease.
These two steadily built the innings and were keeping up the run rate reaching 120 off 16 overs.
They were both to fall to good balls, Mel (73) and Reece (68), and the innings from looking on course began to falter.
Ryan Palmer made 62, but two or three decisions went against Roding and they were all out for 285, losing by five runs.
They feature in The Davis Cup Final on Thursday night against Matching Green, and travel to Bentley in the league on Saturday.
The 2nd team lost at Ilford Catholics.
Ilford scored 231-8, Connor Limerick taking three wickets.
In reply Roding could not match their opponents score and were all out for 175.
The batsmen shared the runs, Steven Heywood 31, Nadith Kumarappuranna 27, Kevin Broyd 22, Richard Pilcher 30 and Martin Taylor 19.
Roding will be at home to Hockerill this Saturday.
