Dunmow lost the toss and were put into bat on an unpredictable pitch. Will Green (22) and Simon Carter (17), both batted well in the conditions, with Ben Gallant (26) and Nick Kessingland (9), hitting runs at the end of innings to get Dunmow to 159 from 40 overs.
Alan Way (27-1), Ollie Rooney (26-3) and A Ritchie (2-29), all bowled well, but it wasn't enough as Hornchurch took the win in the 38th over, seven wickets down.
