The talents of Saffron Walden Ladies footballer Jackie Frost were recognised at the weekend as she received the accolades as being goalkeeper of the tournament at the prestigious Clacton 7s ladies football event.

With 40 other teams involved in the competition, this was an impressive achievement for Walden's number one who only joined the club at the start of last season.

Saffron Walden as a club can be proud of the progress the teams made in this year's competition as they battled further than in previous years and helped to raise the profile of women's football in this area through the skilled performances on the pitch and the good natured fun displayed throughout the weekend.

If any women aged over 16 are interested in playing football for Walden and becoming part of a fun and dedicated team, the Catons Lane club are always on the look out for new players.
