Trophy exit for Takeley to Wadham Lodge

Takeley suffered a 3-1 loss in the Essex Senior League Gordon Brasted Memorial Trophy at home to Wadham Lodge FC on Tuesday night.

On Saturday Duncan Easley’s men claimed an unexpected victory in the Premier Division over high-fliers Basildon United.

The result, a first league loss for United since September, came after second half goals from Michael Ogboin, Andrew Reed and Olly Fortune.

Paul Shave was sent off for Basildon.

Takeley host Eton Manor at Station Road in the league on Saturday.
