A 6-0 defeat at promotion chasing Bowers & Pitsea on Thursday saw Takeley’s eight-game unbeaten streak in the Essex Senior League come crashing to an end.

The Premier Division game was as good as over by half-time at the Len Salmon Stadium with the hosts 5-0 ahead with goals from Frank Everett, Rob Whitnell (two), Lewis Manor and Vinny Durrant.

Luke Wilson netted the only goal of the second half to complete a miserable night for Takeley.
