Takeley have one, or possibly two, games left of the season as they face Basildon United on Tuesday night in the semi-final of the Essex Senior League Challenge Cup.

The winners of the tie, to be played at United’s Longmans Motors Ltd Stadium, will face FC Romania in the final.

FC Romania defeated Burnham Ramblers 3-2 in their last four clash.

The Station Road side finished in 18th place in the Essex Senior League table.

A 2-2 home draw on Saturday with London Bari rounded off the campaign.

The hosts had led 2-0 with goals from Theo Brown, however Adrian Sanchez pulled one back on 71 minutes and Mustapha Junior Sanda’s 84th minute goal ensured the game ended all square.
