Dunmow Rhodes extended their unbeaten run at the weekend, knocking Heath Rovers out of the League Cup.

Buoyed by previous wins and their new found spirit, Rhodes dominated the first half although failing to capitalise on some good chances.

Keeper Ian Bentley pulled off some great saves to keep the scores level into half-time. The second half continued in the same vein with Rhodes piling on the pressure with Manning and Sanders coming close.

The breakthrough came when a rash challenge allowed Rob Glassfield to deliver a perfectly placed free-kick onto the head of a charging and grateful Oliver Haynes.

Rhodes' defence held firm and soaked up all the pressure Heath Rovers could muster to secure the win and their passage into the next round.
