Takeley fell to a 4-2 home loss to Clapton in the Essex Senior League on Tuesday night.

Tony Cookey and Sherwin Stanley both hit first half braces for the away side as they took control of the clash.

Player-manager Alex Martin and Jordan Westcott struck in reply for the hosts.

Takeley, who are third bottom in the table, finish their league campaign on Saturday as they entertain London Bari.

Their season will then not quite be over as they play Basildon United away in the Essex Senior League Challenge Cup semi-final on May 3.
