Hockley bags last gasp winner for Dunmow Rhodes Lions U18s

After a three week break, due to the weather, Dunmow Rhodes Lions U18s were back in league action at High Easter on Sunday beating Springfield Youth 2-1.

Rhodes keeper Luke Johnson was in great form throughout pulling off some crucial good saves.

The first half was an even contest with both teams playing good passing football.

Just before half-time Dunmow took the lead when Sam Duberry picked up a well-timed pass and his shot flew into the net.

The second half continued with chances created by both teams.

Springfield drew level from a well-taken free-kick to make it 1-1.

This set the game up for a perfect finish with plenty of goalmouth action.

With the last play of the game, keeper Johnson sent a long ball downfield it fell to Sam Hockley he caused the Springfield defender and his keeper to panic and with a neat touch saw his shot roll into the net to make the final score 2-1.
