Barnston suffered their worst league defeat of the season on Saturday at home to Broomfield.

Barnston had the better of the first half, but were made to pay for missed chances when Broomfield found the net five minutes before the break.

The home defence was in complete disarray in the second half, which allowed the Broomfield forwards to score six. It could have been even more, but keeper John Eastaigh brought off a series of fine saves.

Barnston Reserves were knocked out of the Essex Junior Cup after a 2-1 defeat against Runwell Hospital.

On Saturday Barnston host Upminster, 2pm kick-off.
