Saffron Walden Ladies thirds put in a strong performance to return from Bourne with the victory on Saturday.

Walden attacked well down the right with a cross from Tilly Sleven finding Charlotte Wisbey ready to slot in the first goal.

They doubled their lead when Pippa George capitalised on a defensive mistake and fired in the second goal.

Charlotte Huson's persistence paid off and she scored the third goal in open play.

Wisbey scored her second and fourth goal for Walden and captain Chris Price finished off the scoring with a cracking hit into the far corner.

# Saffron Walden Ladies first team's match at home to Stevenage was abandoned at half-time due to a waterlogged pitch while the men's first team's game against Croystx was also abandoned.

Dunmow seconds earned a hard-fought point against the league leaders from a match played in horrendous conditions.

The home side survived an early onslaught before creating chances on the counter attack for Farr and Taylor.

However, the Dunmow defence succumbed to a goal mouth scramble just before half-time.

The hosts equalised mid-way through the second half when an Owers short corner found Menhenick whose shot deflected past the keeper.

Although the wind and rain saw chances at a premium, the Dunmow midfield of Buntain and Chatt worked hard to see off any danger.

Meanwhile Dunmow first team secured a 4-2 victory over Southend seconds.
