Thaxted CC under 15s are celebrating after defeating Stansted in the Hugh Craig Invitation Cup (Bardfield League) Final held at Little Bardfield Cricket Club.
Stansted were put into bat and soon went about their business amounting early runs and having unnecessary extras added by the Thaxted bowlers.
During the mid session of
their innings wickets fell cheaply
due to some fine fielding, resulting in three run-outs.
Stansted ended their 20 overs on 95, with both Max Rendell and Luke Matthews taking two wickets each.
Ryan Webster and Jacob Noble took charge of Thaxted's innings notching 30 runs between them, and when both departed it was left to Luke Matthews to close the game remaining not out on 41.
Thaxted reached 96 with four overs to spare to take the prestigious trophy.
