Felsted’s tennis aces net place at national finals

Felsted School’s mixed senior tennis team is through to the National Aegon Tennis Finals after their triumph over Culford in the regional final.

The Felsted team consists of Lucy Bailes, Year 11 from Hockley, Joe Head, Year 12 from Bovinger and Year 13s Matt Morley Jacob, from Great Waltham and Izzy Minks, from Felsted.

After a 1-1 draw in the first round and a nail-biting 3-1 win in the second round, Felsted beat Culford 6-4 in the final stage to secure their place in the National Final for the second year running.

Felsted’s director of tennis Roslyn Cox said: “The Felsted team have been training every Wednesday night in freezing weather and I’m so glad that all their hard work has paid off.”
