Felsted student Max Malins, 17, has been selected as part of the England U18 squad for the upcoming winter campaign.
Malins is currently representing, and has captained, Saracens Elite Academy. At Felsted, he has climbed the ranks into the first-team and represented the school in the Daily Mail Vase final at Twickenham in 2012, alongside his brother Will.
This year he has played for Sarries in the Premierships sevens, World Cup Sevens in Ireland and against their sister club, RCM Timisoara, in Bucharest. He was given the chance to play in the club’s LV=Cup squad against Osprey’s recently but he instead opted to captain Felsted in the NatWest Cup.
Director of rugby and ex-professional Andrew Le Chevalier said: “We are delighted for Max. His performances for Felsted have been inspirational and…I strongly believe that he has the potential to reach a very high level in rugby.”
