Woodbridge School held their Show jumping Competition at the splendid Suffolk Showground on Sunday.

This event is a qualifying competition for the National Equestrian Inter-Schools Show Jumping Competition, as well as a keen contest between

local schools.

Felsted Prep School had a great start, with Molly Stonham, from Great Dunmow on Polo, winning the individual novice, qualifying for the nationals, with Natalie Du Preez on Spice coming fourth.

The team of Molly, Natalie, Lucinda and Araminta Jerram then jumped two rounds, the second against the clock to finish with excellent times and the perfect 0 score, to win the novice team event, also qualifying for the nationals.

More success came in the intermediate team competition, with Anna Stonham, Tessa Reed, Natalie and Molly also completing two rounds with the perfect 0 score, but beaten into third place on time alone. Anna and Tessa then went on to be placed fourth and sixth in the individual open class.

Meanwhile in the showing classes, Angus Upton was taking part in four events, and was given second place in the boy's showing, while his sister Jemima came an excellent 10th in the pony class.

Team manager, Pip Macaulay, said: "The pupils all rode extremely well, clearly mindful and caring of their horses and ponies, and the mother's were a terrific help too. A very happy day for all involved.
