DESPITE gaining a two-goal lead in the first three minutes Takeley let slip their advantage to suffer a disappointing defeat on Saturday.

Ashley Conlon scored the visitors’ first in the opening 30 seconds and Anthony James made it two before the clock hit 3.03pm.

However Mauritius hit back and then levelled before half time, thanks to goals from Nana Asomoah and Theo Mensah.

On the hour mark the match was completely turned on its head when Soloman Offori scored a third for the home side but Takeley were not finished yet.

A handball in the box offered a lifeline and up stepped the usually dependable Lewis Baker to equalise. The left back missed his second penalty in a row and Takeley were left to rue missed chances as they were condemned to defeat.
