New Stansted boss Mark Ashford took charge of the side for the first time on Tuesday night and saw his team beat Bowers & Pitsea 2-1.
A last minute penalty save from Stansted keeper Reece Paine clinched the three points. Earlier Jack Isherwood levelled after Bowers had taken a 30th minute lead and Stansted’s winner came from Tom Hollanby on 49 minutes.
Elsewhere on Tuesday, Takeley were beaten 3-0 away by Premier Division leaders Sawbridgeworth.
The result leaves the Station Road side, who head to Basildon United on Saturday, 18th in the table.
