Two members of Dunmow Atlantis Swimming Club (DASC) have received Jack Petchey Foundation Achievement Awards in recognition of their determination.
Simone Irani and Callum Whelan were selected as recipients, following their participation in the DASC Swim Training Camp to Majorca.
Both completed a week’s training in a 50m pool, culminating in an Olympic Challenge - swimming over 4,600m in 1 hour and 40 minutes.
Head coach Steve Turner, said: “Simone and Callum’s perseverence and determination to challenge themselves was remarkable both in the pool and during the team bonding sessions.”
The awards were presented as part of DASC’s annual Club Championships by Great Dunmow Town Mayor, Cllr Jonathan Cadwallader and his wife Donna.
