After much success in recent years, Dunmow Youth Hockey are looking forward to the new campaign, which kicks-off on September 9.

The Dunmow Minis finished equal top in the whole of Essex in the White Nights League last year. The club also provides more than 20 players for the Essex county teams, and some even made it to the East region squad.

Tracy McClagan, one of the Dunmow coaches, said: "Success can only be achieved by encouraging large numbers to join on Sunday mornings and newcomers are very welcome.

"Hence, last season we often saw more than 80 kids from five through to 12 years old, training and playing matches up on the astroturf pitch."

At 13 children go on to join the under 15 squads and can eventually place in the adult teams.

Training takes place at Dunmow Leisure Centre on Sunday mornings and children are grouped in their age groups. If interested you can visit the Dunmow Hockey website on www.dhc.org.uk or contact Charlie Fillingham on 01371 821475.
