Dunmow United Pythons 4 Stock United 0

DESPITE the scoreline this game could have gone either way in the first half.

Pythons were not at their best while Stock showed plenty of skill and composure on the ball, and their stand-in goal keeper performed well throughout. Dunmow created little, and most of the chances went to the visitors. Two excellent saves from Louis Jenkins before and just after half time kept Dunmow in it.

After the break Harry Roberts fed Will Hammill who slotted in a shot from the left side of the penalty area. Soon afterwards Roberts scored with a lob from long range. Pythons relaxed and started to play more football. Man-of-the-match Jude Monaghan headed in after an excellent shot from Hamill was saved, then he scored again with a shot right at the end.

The winner of next week’s game with Raven Youth will top the division.

Great Notley Rams 0 Flitch Youth Blues 3

PLAYING another Wednesday evening fixture to catch up on their backlog, Flitch recorded a comfortable victory over Great Notley.

Flitch took the lead before half time from a corner. Leon Roelleke swung the ball in, which was knocked down for Ben Mackley to fire home.

With the second half being downhill and the wind in their favour, Flitch were able to make changes to the line up and go for a more attaching option. The second goal was set up by some neat footwork from Jacob Morgan down the right wing, pulling the ball back for Aaron Robertson to tap into the back of the net.

Notley were restricted to very few second half chances thanks to some smart defending by Kasib Chowdhury, Elliot law, James Baker and Jak Weston.

And Flitch sealed the game from the penalty spot, Roelleke stepping up to score neatly into the corner after handball had been given.

Boreham 3 Dunmow Rhodes 2

AN understrength Rhodes could not keep up the pressure as they slipped to defeat at Boreham.

They out-played their opponents with an offside trap and superior passing but went down by three needless goals.

In the second half Thompson took over the keeper’s slot from Johnston who provided the link to Coupie in midfield. Soon Brown, Hart, and Fraser were firing shots in only to be denied by the Boreham keeper.

Brown set up by Johnston cracked home the first and then Coupie linked with Johnston who scored number two.

All credit to captain Bones for keeping his back line disciplined and organised.

Wilvale Rangers Lions 8 Dunmow Rhodes Lions 2

DUNMOW Rhodes got off to an excellent start after taking the lead inside three minutes through an own goal.

But Wilvale had the slight advantage in the first half, kicking with the breeze, and ran up five goals before the interval.

Dunmow continued to put pressure on the Wilvale defence in the second half. A Sam Hockley header hit the bar before Oscar Turner converted from the penalty spot.

Rangers hit back immediately and struck twice more near the end.
