Dunmow in 20-run loss to Kelvedon and Feering

It was a case of what might have been for Dunmow against Kelvedon and Feering.
In a match reduced to 35 overs because of overnight and morning storms, Dunmow chose to bowl first in conditions that really should have been conducive to bowling.
However, Kelvedon put on 53 for the first wicket.
The introduction of Baz Sewell changed things as Parsons was caught off his second ball.
Dunmow then contrived to drop at least three catches as a partnership of 67 was built by West, who went on to make 56 and Stobbs (34), as Kelvedon continued in their aggressive approach.
As the end of the innings approached, wickets fell as Sewell claimed 4-53 and engineered a superb run out of the batsmen backing up at the non strikers end.
Josh Rix also claimed 2-32 as the visitors closed on 193-7.
For Dunmow Nick Coupe led an aggressive charge with 62.
He received excellent support from Luke Matthews (38) and Joe Gallant (20).
With 10 overs to go, Dunmow needed 60 with six wickets in hand. However, a clutch of wickets saw the rate spiral and the innings closed on 173 and the grandstand finish never materialised.
