Dunmow Atlantis Swimming Club are raising money for St Clare Hospice at the Nuclear Rush Mud & Obstacle Race.
The 7k event will challenge all levels of fitness and ability, testing teamwork and strength of all 15 members in action.
Based on farmland with mud, woods, rivers, lakes and fields, it takes participants over big and small obstacles and the Dunmow squad are hoping to raise £1,500.
St Clare Hospice has been supporting people in West Essex since 1990 and a club spokesman said: “By sharing their stories we aim to dispel fears and anxiety around visiting a hospice, so they can offer care to more people who need them.”
