Dunmow Dragons U15s ended their season on a high after winning the Hugh Craig league play off final against Little Bardfield.
After winning the toss, Dunmow decided to bowl first and a combination of a slow wicket, tight bowling and excellent fielding saw Bardfield restricted to 98 for three from 20 overs, thanks mainly to opener C.Gliddon (48no) who batted right through the innings. C Gray (1-10) was Dunmow’s best bowler.
In reply Dunmow got off to a solid, if not spectacular start, with openers I.Bush and B.Jolliffe putting on a partnership of 53.
After two quick wickets J.McLaughlin joined Bush at the crease and runs began to flow with both batsmen hitting a six and a four in successive overs to put Dunmow in pole position. Bush was finally out for 43, but McLaughlin ended 21 not out to steer his side home by seven wickets.
