LITTLE Dunmow’s Team Gridlock put in some strong runs to push themselves into third overall in the Real Steal, MSA and WB race series standings.

At the June Shootout during the weekend the team recorded two wins and a fourth place, only losing out in the final race because wet weather closed in.

Driver Adam Price put in two solid qualifying runs just two hundredths of a second apart on Saturday morning for a consistent dial in for the Sunday.

In the first race he caught his opponent napping on the line and hit him with a 0.067 reaction time against his 0.951 to take the win.

The second race was against another competition altered dragster and again hit a great reaction time and straight run to take the win.

With the weather forecast for Sunday looking grim, the teams were called to the grid a day early.

In difficult conditions Price performed probably the hairiest burnout this year. The car veered violently to each side on the front and back wheel before skilful driving put it back onto the track.

With a strong wheelie launch and the car struggling for grip it produced a 60ft time of 1.304 which slowed the car by just over 0.1 of a second to get a disappointing 4th.

Price said: “The car is becoming more consistent and the season is looking positive, we just need some good weather now for the Nostalgia Nationals in two weeks.”

He walked away with the ‘best reaction time’ trophy for the third time this season.
