A competitive friendly clash at Dunmow saw Aythorpe Roding run out winners by five wickets on Saturday. Good knocks from Dunmow s top four batsmen led by Sneath (59), Simon Burrell (42) Luke Swanston (34) and Rix (17) saw Dunmow reach 217-7 in 47 overs.

Matt Reeve claimed 3-44 in 11 overs, Graham Milbank 3-64 in 17 overs while Andy Clarke 1-18 also bowled well for Roding.
James Reynolds (23) and Doug Brierley (65) gave Aythorpe a sold start. Martin Sully continued the run chase with 34 not out, Andy Clarke hit a quick fire 38 and Steve Honorie hit 32 as Aythorpe ended on 221-5 in 30.5 overs.
Nick Rooney took 3-56 in eight overs, while Hadfield, Mark Sykes took a wicket apiece.
Dunmow skipper Richard Cross bowled well and now leaves for four years in Australia.
