Takeley FC were knocked out of the Essex Senior League Challenge Cup after going down 2-1 in the quarter-final at Haringey Borough on Tuesday night.
Anthony McDonald put the hosts 1-0 ahead in the first half. Borough sealed the result in the 87th minute as Dewayne Clarke netted.
Takeley scored a penalty in injury time, but there was no time to force an equaliser.
Duncan Easley’s side return to league action on Saturday as they host Sawbridgeworth Town at Station Road.
