Saffron Crocus Reserves crashed out of the Lower Junior Cup South Round One on Saturday at Linton, but they put in another much-improved performance and were unlucky to lose.

Crocus started well taking the game to their hosts with some good football, but against the run of play Rangers took a 2-0 lead just before half-time.

Crocus came out in determined mood in the second half and chances began to come their way, and on 61 minutes a great left-wing cross was superbly hit home by Daniel Rouse from close in.

Crocus had something now to chase, and as they kept the tempo up, it was again Daniel Rouse who grabbed the equaliser on 75 minutes.

With Crocus looking the more likely to grab the winner, a mistake in their back line allowed a Rangers forward the opportunity to fire home the winner.
